Everything your company runs on, in one place.
Cortex is an AI-run ERP for growing companies: your books, payroll, tax compliance and dashboards in one place, with AI executive offices — a CFO, a Controller, a CHRO and more — that read your real numbers, check them for problems and tell you what needs doing.
Books & accounting
What does Cortex do for accounting?
Cortex keeps your company books: sales invoices, purchases, credit and debit notes, and the capital side. The profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow are computed from the transactions every time you open them, so they never drift from the entries behind them.
- Sales invoices numbered without gaps per financial year, with credit and debit notes
- Purchases with tax split, input-credit eligibility and reverse charge worked out for you
- Profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow and a monthly trend — computed, never stored
- Asset register with depreciation, investments, borrowings and director loans
- Subscription revenue spread over the service period
- Period locks, year close and a document vault for every bill and invoice
- A hand-off pack for your accountant at year end
Banking & reconciliation
How does Cortex reconcile the bank?
Import a bank statement as CSV, or upload the PDF and let the AI read it — scans included. An AI reading must tie to the statement’s opening and closing balances before it can be saved, and nothing is saved until a person accepts it; a CSV that does not tie is flagged. A match workbench then pairs each bank line with the sale, purchase or payroll payment it settles.
- Bank statement import with duplicate lines removed
- AI statement reader for PDFs and scans — a reading must tie to the balances before it is saved
- Match workbench for receipts, payments and salaries
- AI invoice reader that proposes a purchase entry for you to confirm
Payroll & people
Does Cortex run payroll?
Yes. Each month’s run prorates pay on working days and picks the tax-deduction section from how the person is engaged. Pay can be settled in parts; what is still owed stays visible person by person, and an overpayment becomes a salary advance. People records carry joining and leaving dates.
- Monthly runs prorated on working days
- Part payments, salary owed and salary advances per person
- Tax deducted at source tracked per line
- People records with role, engagement type and dates
- Payroll cost, paid and owed published to the dashboards
Tax & compliance
Which taxes does Cortex handle?
Indian GST and TDS are built in today: tax registers, input credit, TDS deducted and deposited, TDS your customers withheld, challans and a filing calendar with due dates. More countries are on the roadmap; the dashboards and AI offices work for a company anywhere.
- GST purchase and sales registers, per-state registrations and reverse charge
- TDS register — deducted, deposited, and withheld by your customers
- Filing calendar with due dates and overdue flags
- Filings that do not apply to you marked once and carried forward
- Three-way match of orders, bills and payments
Dashboards & reports
What reporting does Cortex include?
Each department has a dashboard of the measures its executive watches, each showing the date it is as of. Books figures publish to the dashboards with one click (and hourly when enabled), other figures import from CSV, and you can set a target on any measure to track it.
- Department dashboards for finance, people, sales, technology and operations
- Every figure shows the date it is as of
- One-click “Update dashboards” from the books
- CSV import for figures kept elsewhere
- Targets on any measure, with trends against them
AI executive offices
What are AI executive offices?
An AI executive office is an AI advisor for one seat of the C-suite, briefed on your company and given read access to the data that seat needs. The finance offices read your books through certified measures computed by code, so the figures they quote are exact. The AI Controller’s month-end close review lists each problem it finds in a month’s books with an owner and an action, and the finance offices can tell you what it found.
- 26 offices across finance, people, sales, technology, legal, risk and strategy
- Finance offices read the books; others read the dashboards or advise from your company brief
- Data access is for workspace admins; members ask the same offices, which advise from the brief
- Month-end close review by the AI Controller: findings with severity, owner and action
- Exact figures from code — the model explains, it never does the sums
- Read-only by design: no office can change your books
- Ready prompts for each office, from “close a month” to “red-yellow-green a contract”
Customers & vendors
How are customers and suppliers kept?
Every customer, supplier and prospect is one record, used by sales invoices, purchases and the books alike — so a customer’s invoices, receipts and tax withheld all hang off the same name.
- One party master for customers, suppliers and prospects
- Tax registration and payment details on the party
- Per-customer receivables and history
Market & industry news
Does Cortex track outside news?
Yes. Cortex gathers articles from more than 60 curated sources across AI, technology, finance and world events, grouped by category with the top stories first, so the context around your decisions sits next to your numbers.
- More than 60 curated sources
- Grouped by category, top stories first
- Same feed for every seat in the company
Security & administration
How is company data protected?
Every company’s data is isolated by row-level security enforced inside the database, not just in the application. Users have roles, every change to the books is recorded in an append-only audit log, and your data can be exported — workspace data from Settings, and each year’s books as an accountant’s hand-off pack.
- Row-level security enforced by the database on every company table
- Roles and invitations for your team
- API keys with read or write scope
- Append-only audit log
- Self-service export, and a yearly books hand-off pack for your accountant
- Bring your own Anthropic API key if you prefer
See how the AI offices work
The offices are what turn a set of books into decisions. Here is how they reason — and what they will never do.
