Acceptable use policy

Effective 2026-05-14

Use of Cortexis subject to the rules below. We apply them sparingly — we don’t look inside your tenant content — but when violations come to our attention through abuse signals, partner notices, or law enforcement, we will act.

1. Prohibited content and conduct

You may not use the Service to:

  • Generate, store, or distribute child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form.
  • Plan, facilitate, or promote violence, terrorism, or self-harm.
  • Build weapons, malware, exploits, or instructions for the above.
  • Impersonate a real person, infringe trademarks or copyrights, or otherwise violate intellectual property rights.
  • Harass, threaten, defame, or doxx another person.
  • Generate content intended to deceive a tribunal, regulator, or contracting counterparty about authorship.
  • Process special-category data (health, biometric, genetic, criminal) without a lawful basis you can produce on request.

2. Technical conduct

  • No probing for security vulnerabilities outside our responsible-disclosure programme (see /security).
  • No circumventing quotas, rate limits, the token cap, or the subscription enforcement gate.
  • No scraping the marketing site or API beyond rates published in the documentation.
  • No reselling Cortex access without a written reseller agreement.

3. AI-specific conduct

  • You may not present AI-generated output as the considered opinion of a named professional (lawyer, doctor, accountant) without that professional’s review and sign-off.
  • You must not use Cortex to make final, automated decisions about hiring, firing, lending, insurance, or other legally-significant outcomes — agents are advisors, not deciders.
  • Outputs you publish externally should disclose AI involvement where the platform or jurisdiction requires it.

4. Enforcement

Violations may result in (in escalating order): a written warning, feature lockout, suspension of the offending user, suspension of the tenant, or termination with immediate purge. Serious violations (CSAM, imminent threats) trigger immediate termination and, where legally required, referral to the appropriate authority.

5. Reporting

Report abuse to privacy@cortex.pleisys.com with the relevant tenant slug, user ID, and a brief description. Reports are confidential to the extent the law permits.
